Sorry I have not got on with the Blog but I am back. To read the full story go to previous post and please leave me comments as this will encourage me to get on with it.
As you can see on photos I have it as a rolling chassis in my single car garage at home. Now sprayed silver chassis and red suspension, engine, gearbox and axles.Everything I used was salvaged from John Eva's car breakers with much haggling at bargain prices. [Cheers John} Next thing was to get the pickup cab from the chassis that it built on in 1971. This come off but leaving me with loads of welding and floor replacing, this I just cut the whole floor out and replaced it with a marine ply wood floor worth putting in as it is still as good now as when I fitted it. I also cut the bulk head {fire wall] out as I needed more room for the larger engine and gearbox, this was replaced with secondhand brass and copper mainly because it was shiny. When I fitted The Cab on to the chassis that's when a few problems started to hit me, did I have the gear knob right behind the seat because to get the front wheels to fit under the wings or try to compromise to get both looking something like normal. As you can see on photos the wheels are too far forward so i had to alter the front wings by adding inserts to them, the reason for this is that I just for one moment when I designed the chassis was going to change and not put the pickup cab on but put a ford pop body on, but the lorry driver in me said you have to make it like a mini lorry look. The only bit that was left on that's Morris is the outer cab loosing the floor, bulkhead seats and dashboard.
